Some of you may have heard of Asian BB cream recently - "BB" is short for "Blemish Balm", but in reality these products do so much more than that!
I honestly didn't know too much about it until a year or two ago when my mom brought back a tube from Japan. She said that it was very popular and there were all sorts of different brands being sold in Japan. I wasn't really jazzed about it at first but the product has grown on me. This particular brand (pictured above) moisturizes, provides light coverage, and evens out my skin before applying makeup. Apparently you can also use this for a "non-makeup makeup" look, but I use it more as a base for the rest of my products.
Here's some more information about BB creams if you're interested. In the US they might be a little more hard to come by unless you buy them from online sites that are based in Asia, but Sephora has a few versions on their site.
I like the brand from Korea called Missha?! Have been using it for several years, great when you don't want to do the whole make-up thing :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the best luck with BB creams but b/c I'm curious *and* stubborn I'm still looking for THE one...haha ;) Does this have a yellowish tint to it? The ones I've tried have a pink tone to them which just doesn't work for me. :(
ReplyDelete@KandS: Nice, you were way ahead of the BB trend!
ReplyDelete@SNC: I hope you find one that works for you, this one is yellow-based!
Oh I haven't heard of BB cream until your post but now I really want to try it out. I always am wondering what the Asian actresses are putting on their skin. Looks like there are quite a few on Amazon too sold through third parties
ReplyDelete@Kirbie: I hope you liked it!
