Birthday Deals Roundup

It should come as a surprise to no one that given my love of coupons, I sign up for emails from a lot of companies/stores.  The main reason for doing so is for the birthday deals that they send out, woo!  Since the list of deals is pretty good, and a few friends asked about emails that I've received, I figured I'd put it out into one big list here to share with you all.

If you are interested in signing up for any of these, I would HIGHLY recommend having a separate email account just to sign up for these types of emails.  I do that so that my main email account isn't completely flooded with promotional emails, because that would drive me completely insane, haha.

Also, clearly I did not use ALL of these coupons, but it's fun to see what companies offer each year, haha.

Review: Ciao Bella Mango Sorbet

Once again, an example of how packaging (especially with a coupon) can persuade me into trying something at the supermarket. I mean, look at it- Bright colors! Random snowflake! What's not to love?

Ciao Bella began in NYC and is now available at a good number of chain supermarkets, although not all (last I checked, the Giant by me did not carry these). I picked up the Mango Sorbet and Chocolate Hazelnut, due to the coupon I had.

The Mango sorbet is full-flavored and almost creamy, in a good way- which isn't normally associated with sorbets. What I mean is, you get a ton more of the fruit flavor, as opposed to a watered-down flavor like you might get with other sorbets. If you like Mango water ices from Rita's, for example, Ciao Bella's is like the souped-up, 'roided out version of that.

Final verdict? A delicious and satisfying sorbet for mango lovers. I'm excited to try the Chocolate Hazelnut one soon, to see how they do with non-fruit ingredients.

Love, Love, Love: Rita's Mango Water Ice

mmm... Frosty Deliciousness.

I've been severely lacking in my Rita's Water Ice intake since moving to this area, since I never seemed to come across any around here; compare this to NJ, where water ice shops in general seem to be abundant.

However, a quick online search yielded a Rita's Water Ice not too far from my work- huzzah! My favorite flavor is Mango for sure- I've tried a few other flavors but those always taste a little "off" for me.

It might seem a little excessive for me to buy the quart-sized tub shown above; however, it's a cost-effective and deeeeeeelicious way to have Rita's basically whenever I feel like having it at home. If you want to switch it up a bit they will do 1/2 and 1/2 of 2 flavors- halfway through the tub, it's like buying a new container of water ice, sweeeeeet.

Sidenote: The Vanilla Custard is also omgamaaaazing if you're more in a creamy sweets mood.
