This beautiful dessert was one of the Mother's Day specials at Sunday Morning Bakehouse - I had to pick one up after seeing it posted online because it was so pretty!  This Sunday Rose macaron consists of a giant macaron with rose buttercream, lychee, raspberries, white chocolate, gold leaf, and rose petals.  The fresh fruits made this dessert really special, and the flavors were strong without being overwhelming, especially the rose buttercream.  What a fun and creative take on a regular macaron!

Takeout Tuesday - Pizza Bagel from Call Your Mother Deli

There's something so simple and delicious about a pizza bagel to me - and when you can elevate it like this version from Call Your Mother deli, it's even better! 

This pizza bagel is part of the dinner menu at their Pike and Rose location, and is a plain bagel topped with tomato sauce, Mozz/Prov cheese blend, pepperoni, and pesto.  My favorite parts are the super crispy mini pepperoni cups and the combination of the tomato and pesto sauces together.  This is definitely one of the highlights of their dinner menu for me, and I'm happy that they're offering fun items like this later in the day so close to me!

Takeout Tuesday - Cookies and Cream Brioche Doughnut From Sunday Morning Bakehouse

If you love Oreos you will definitely enjoy this cookies and cream Brioche doughnut from Sunday Morning Bakehouse!  I got this one a while back but I am hoping that it comes back again soon into the rotating doughnut menu.  The filling was delicious and I love the look of the cookie crumb topping as well.  I also look forward to seeing what the next special doughnut is! 

 

Takeout Tuesday - Strawberries n' Cream Croissant from Sunday Morning Bakehouse

This Strawberries n' Cream croissant from Sunday Morning Bakehouse is the perfect springtime treat!  These twice baked croissants look so pretty with the fruit and edible flower details, and are such a unique menu item.  I love the contrast of the cream filling and the crispy outer layers of the croissant.  They have had a few variations of these in the past and this one is great for representing the start of warm weather and blooming flowers.  Give it a try if you are in the area!

Takeout Tuesday - Nutella Bun from Sunday Morning Bakehouse

 

I've seen this Nutella bun offered a few weekends now at Sunday Morning Bakehouse - I hope it is becoming a regular menu item!  

The crispy croissant layers with the Nutella and chopped hazelnut filling is a perfect combination of texture in each bite.  I think this is pretty much the same as the Nutella twist they also have had before, but I like the swirled design of this one as well.  So delicious if you like Nutella! 

Takeout Tuesday - French Ham and Butter Sandwich from Sunday Morning Bakehouse

 

Do not sleep on this French ham and butter sandwich from Sunday Morning Bakehouse! It might sound simple but the components all come together to make a really delicious sandwich.  This consists of "thinly sliced ham, Swiss cheese, and Cornichon pickle slices on a buttered baguette".  The crispy outer layer of the baguette works so well with the softer cheese and ham, and the tiny pickles added a nice briny touch.  It's easy to forget about the "regular" sandwiches with so many fun sweets they regularly have out on display, but this one is a great lunch option!

I ordered the Valentine's treat box from Sunday Morning Bakehouse again this year, and again it did not disappoint in both cuteness and taste!  There's a little bit of everything in terms of sweets in this Valentine's day themed box - cookies, Rice Krispy treats, brownies, and more.  I love how festive these all look packed together! Lots of the items freeze well too which is helpful so I'm not eating everything at once, haha.  I hope they keep continuing to do these fun themed pre-order boxes!

I personally love all of the random National food holidays - especially when you can get something fun to celebrate!  Yesterday was apparently National Croissant Day, and to celebrate Sunday Morning Bakehouse offered a free mini croissant with every purchase.  

I bought the new Nutella twist which is delicious and a fun take on a traditional croissant.  The Nutella and hazelnut pieces twisted into the flaky dough is really good!  The free mini croissant was bigger than I was expecting and will definitely make for a tasty sandwich soon.

Takeout Tuesday - Cranberry Orange Doughnut from Sunday Morning Bakehouse

While I love citrus fruits themselves, I'm not usually a fan of citrus-based pastries in general.  Of course if anyone could convince me to try one out it will be Sunday Morning Bakehouse!  

I just couldn't resist the pretty pink frosting on this Cranberry Orange doughnut and had to get one.  The bright flavor of the fruit jam with the pastry cream was really delicious, and the crumble on top was a nice layer of texture.  Especially in these dreary winter months, a pop of color in something sweet is always a nice way to brighten up the day!

Takeout Tuesday - The Mountain View at Call Your Mother Deli

 

The Mountain View breakfast sandwich at Call Your Mother Deli is packed full of deliciousness, with a combination of foods that I never thought to put in a bagel, haha.  This contains bodega-style local eggs, American and cheddar cheeses, a latke, and avocado on a plain bagel.  The latke definitely stood out to me as being so random for a sandwich ingredient but it works so well! The only thing I would've added is some hot sauce which I didn't really of until after the fact, but it was a super filling and delicious sandwich either way.  Everything except the avocado was nice and hot, with lots of gooey cheese in every bite.  So delicious!

Takeout Tuesday - Pumpkin Spice Milk from Greenheart

 

I was very happy to see this pumpkin spice cashew milk available at the Pike and Rose farmers' market this past weekend after seeing it on the Greenheart Juice Shop's Instagram account.  I've tried almost all of their market offerings so far and of course I love trying anything pumpkin spice flavored.  I can't really say what is different about "activated cashew milk" myself but it tasted very smooth and I wouldn't have really known that it was different from another non-dairy milk.  The pumpkin spice and maple syrup definitely stood out to me as the strongest flavors in this.  This was really tasty and a fun new way to enjoy pumpkin spice season!

Takeout Tuesday - Halloween Box from Sunday Morning Bakehouse

 

I hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend! When I saw that Sunday Morning Bakehouse was doing pre-orders for a Halloween treat box again this year, of course I had to get one again - so cute!

  This box consisted of a homemade Oreo, brownie, pumpkin shaped Krispie treat, a meringue ghost, a Reese's pieces chocolate cookie, and pumpkin shaped sugar cookies along with some fun sized candy.  Everything was so fun to look at and a really festive way to enjoy Halloween!  I am saving most of these in the freezer for later, but I love how there's so many different types of treats if you were sharing with a group.  I can't wait to see what holiday items they come out with later!

Takeout Tuesday - Sunday Morning Bakehouse's Pumpkin Loaf

 

Happy National Pumpkin Day!  What better way to celebrate than by sharing this delicious pumpkin loaf from Sunday Morning Bakehouse?  Don't let the simple looks of it fool you - this slice of pumpkin loaf was really flavorful!  The slightly crispy edges have a nice contrast with the thick middle of spiced pumpkin flavor, and this was really rich without feeling heavy.  Perfect with some tea or coffee - I enjoyed this with plain iced coffee.  I knew that I would like their pumpkin menu items to begin with, but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by how tasty this was!

Takeout Tuesday - Call Your Mother Deli in Pike & Rose

Welcome to the neighborhood Call Your Mother deli!  Their newest location is in Pike & Rose, which is very exciting since it'll be much easier to go and grab something delicious for breakfast or lunch.  Their opening day was yesterday with a steady stream of customers when I went mid-morning.  I got the Royal Palm bagel sandwich, and it was packed full of flavor and different textures.  I really enjoyed this one as a smoked salmon fan.  They also threw in a free chocolate chip cookie which is still waiting in the fridge for me to enjoy as a snack today.  

I love how creative their menu is, with lots of sandwich selections that you may not find in a traditional bagel shop.  

During their pre-opening last Saturday when I happened to walk by, I got the Turkey BLTA from their lunch sandwiches section, as well as a plain bagel to freeze and an extra snickerdoodle cookie.  This was free for the pre-opening and I will definitely be getting these again, especially that sandwich with the flavorful herb mayo and plenty of fillings!

Takeout Tuesday - Mocha Brioche Donut from Sunday Morning Bakehouse

I always love coffee-based sweets and baked goods, so of course I enjoyed this Mocha Brioche doughnut from Sunday Morning Bakehouse!  This fluffy doughnut was filled with a delicious mocha cream and topped with chocolate glaze and chocolate pearls on top.  There was a strong coffee flavor in the filling, and I love the chocolate pearls on top for texture.  This was delicious with a latte (for even more coffee flavor, haha) and anyone that loves Mochas will love this one!

Takeout Tuesday - Banana Pudding Jar from Sunday Morning Bakehouse

I am loving these layered jar desserts from Sunday Morning Bakehouse - so many flavors and textures in a cute jar!  This banana pudding jar was available recently, so of course I had to get one to try out.  This one is pretty cream and custard heavy which I personally love, so I knew that this one would be good.  The slightly torched top with the banana slice was a nice touch as well.  I hope they continue to come out with these cute and delicious jar desserts!

Takeout Tuesday - bb.q Chicken at Pike and Rose

 

The bb.q chicken stand inside the Block at Pike and Rose has some of the best Korean fried chicken I've had so far!  These are the soy garlic wings, and they are so good.  The batter is super crispy without feeling heavy, and the soy garlic flavor was really strong throughout.  I'm tempted to keep getting these soy garlic wings, but something tells me I should try out all of their other great looking variations as well.  I look forward to exploring more of their menu soon!

Yum, what a decadent croissant from Sunday Morning Bakehouse!  They have come out with a few versions of a "twice-baked" croissant recently, and this Banana Caramel one was delicious!  Similar to a twice baked potato concept, the croissant is filled with vanilla creme, bananas, housemade caramel, and brown sugar crumble and baked again before being topped with vanilla buttercream, caramel, and more of the crumble.  There's so much flavor and texture in every bite with all the different layers, like an elevated banana cream pie inside of a flaky croissant.  I love that they continue to come out with lots of creative menu items like this one!

Takeout Tuesday - Sweets By Caroline's Macarons at URBNmarket Pike and Rose

There were a lot of great vendors at the URBNmarket held in Pike and Rose recently, including Sweets By Caroline's amazing macarons!  The "regular" macarons all look great but the character ones are on another level - so cute!  I'm glad I got there early to get my pick of the whole selection, especially since it looked like she sold out in two hours.  I could see why she sold out so quickly - the macarons were all so fun to look at and the character ones were so detailed.

 

The macarons all tasted as good as they looked and were the perfect afternoon treat in the middle of my work days.  This URBNmarket was a great chance to check out vendors that I haven't seen in person before like this one, and try out some delicious treats at the same time! 

 

Takeout Tuesday - Sunday Morning Bakehouse's Cruffin

 

I've enjoyed the Cruffin from Sunday Morning Bakehouse before, but I hadn't seen it available recently so I had to pick one up! The Cruffin comes from a combination of Croissant + Muffin, making for a crispy outer shell and buttery soft center.  The extra touch of cinnamon sugar around the outside makes this perfect with a cup of coffee.  I lightly toasted this in my toaster oven at home and it definitely added to the texture.  It might look very simple compared to some of their more colorful pastries but I would definitely recommend trying one!
