DSW - Mint New Balance Sneakers

DSW's Instagram account recently posted a photo of mint New Balance sneakers, and I thought they were super cute! I don't normally buy colorful shoes or sneakers, but they looked like the perfect light mint shade, perfect with a pair of jeans or leggings.  I was not able to find them on their website, but I happened to come across them in the clearance section of my local store, in my size to boot! I snapped these up quickly because they were very pretty in person, and comfortable as well.  I would highly recommend keeping an eye out for these at your local DSW store!

DSW - Mint Polka Dot Scarf

I got this pretty mint scarf at DSW a while back, and I love how the little silver polka dots play off the sheer mint color! I don't normally wear too many scarves, but I'm seeing lots of cute and unique designs more recently, and I'm trying to remember to actually wear them haha.  These breezy spring days are the perfect time to add a scarf as a fun touch to my regular outfit!

DSW - Fall Booties

These are just two of the few (ok fine, many) shoes I've bought this fall from DSW - I can't help it, there are so many cute styles this season!!  I've especially liked the booties that can be dressed up or down depending on my outfit - these are totally versatile and I've already gotten a lot of wear out of them.

If you're in the market for fall/winter booties, I would definitely recommend checking out DSW frequently, as they always have new styles coming in!

Nine West Metallic Flats from DSW

Opennnnnnnnnnn Sesame!  What a fun name for a shoe :o)

I got these light gold Nine West Open Sesame flats at DSW a while back - unfortunately they aren't available on the DSW site anymore, hence the Zappos link.  They're incredibly comfortable and great for work or with a pair of jeans on a weekend for running errands.  The light gold color is a fun shade but still works as a neutral since it's not super metallic-y.  Anyone that's looking for a little different pair of flats for the fall, these would be a great option!

Summer Sandals from DSW

Hooray for new summer shoes!  As soon as I saw these in Mix No. 6 Chanel Wedges at DSW I knew I had to try them on.  I was a little iffy on the gold at first, but in person (after wearing them in the store for a few minutes) I found that it's a light enough gold to really be considered more of a neutral.

Yes, the heel is high, but the great thing about these is how lightweight these are.  That's probably one of the main reasons I won't buy wedges online - no matter how cute they are, some of them are SO heavy and feel like you're wearing ankle weights, haha.  These are light and comfy, with some elastic on the ankle and foot areas (you can see it on the top shoe in the photo above) which is a nice touch.

As a final bonus, they're on clearance, woohoo!  If you're a fan of fun summer wedges like I am, get these before they are gone!

DSW - New Flats

I'm normally a heels kinda gal, but flats are a necessary item for certain outfits and walking situations, haha. A while back I got these two flats from DSW and I love them both!

The lighter ones on top are the Madden Girl Tazorr Flats in Blush, and the darker pair are the Jellypop Easy Flats.  The Jellypop ones are pretty casual so I won't be wearing them to work, but I like that both pairs have detailing on them that make them different from plain flats.  Both of these have been great for the nice spring weather we've had lately!

Madden Girl Twista Flat

As you may know, I am a huge fan of heels, especially crazy platform heels.  But sometimes, flat shoes are good to have, haha.  I got these Madden Girl Twista flats at DSW because I thought they were cute and different from my normal neutral colored shoes.  I like how the bow and the little pop of red on the front add a fun little detail to an otherwise nude flat.  I highly recommend these comfortable flats for anyone that is looking for a new pair of spring shoes!

New Kicks

Even though I very rarely run outside, I decided it was time for some new running shoes because my gym shoes felt like they were getting worn down.  I got this fun pair of Adidas sneakers at DSW for an awesome price:

$70 shoes +
30% off clearance +
$20 rewards certificate +
 $20 rewards certificate =

$9 total, plus 500 extra rewards points thanks to an athletic shoe promotion

Now if that wasn't enough motivation to get new shoes and use them at the gym, I don't know what is!

Boot Accessories

I recently picked up this pair (or two pairs, rather) of knee high socks to wear under tall boots in the fall/winter.  This is a great way to pull together a seasonal look with some extra warmth as well.  DSW has a great selection of fun under-boot socks, ranging from simple ones like mine to crazy fur-attached ones, haha.  I look forward to buying a few more pairs to go with my tall boots this season!

Anyone else excited for Tall Boots Season?

Love, Love, Love: Madden Girl Sookie Glitter Pump @ DSW

Looooooooooooooving these Madden Girl Sookie Glitter Pumps, which are currently available at DSW.  Let me count the ways:

- As you may already know I love the Madden Girl brand and own approximately 29387492374932743 pairs of shoes by that brand.
- They are sold at DSW, meaning they are cheaper, and I can use DSW gift certificates towards them.
- Platform front = my BFF.
- GLITTER. And not in the horrific Mariah Carey movie sort of way.
- Adjustable heel straps are always a welcome detail.

All in all, a fabulous pair of shoes - I just need a reason to get them!  And no, I don't think I can convince myself (or my company) that these would be good work shoes, haha.

Just a LITTLE Obsessed...

I was recently asked to come up with a "fun fact" about myself for a work party - corny, yes, but such is the holiday work party, haha.  I thought about it for a few minutes and decided that my "fun fact" would be how many pairs of shoes I own.  I knew the number would be pretty high, but did not prepare myself for...

ONE HUNDRED PAIRS.

Yup, you read that right- in my tiny apartment I've been able to somehow to keep 100 pairs of shoes.   Yes, this includes flip flops and other smaller shoes, but shoes nonetheless.

So, thank you DSW for being my main "dealer" to fuel my shoe addiction, and I guess thank you to all of my friends for not also being a size 6.5 and being unable to borrow/steal any of my shoes, haha.

Have any of you ever counted how many shoes you own?  I hope that maybe at least ONE of my friends can beat me haha!

Calvin Klein Platforms @ DSW

The other day I was browsing through my nearby DSW store, not really looking for any specific type of shoe... and then saw THESE.

In the words of Rachel Zoe, "I DIE."

These Calvin Klein Christine Calf Pump is all sorts of fabulous and I snatched them up in about .000000000000000384 seconds.  Love the platform, the cutout pattern, the light gray color, EVERYTHING!  The shape is v. similar to my other Calvin pumps, with a thick heel and high front platform base to make them much more comfortable than they might seem.  The cutouts make me think these are more of a spring/summer shoe, but I will try them out with tights in the winter and see how it goes, haha.  Anyone else have any good shoe finds lately?

DSW Gift Card Deal

Just a quick post to let you know about a good deal at DSW, my fave shoe store.  From now until the end of the year, you get a $10 gift card for every $50 gift card you purchase!  The $10 gift card has to be used in the 2nd half of January 2011, but clearly that isn't an issue for me, and shouldn't be for you either, haha.

Even if you don't have anyone to buy the gift card for, just buy it for yourself to use later!  Or, you can also buy a gift card for yourself and give away the $10 card- it would make a nice supplement to a gift, if you wanted to add on something small.

For the fine print/details check out the offer here

Madden Girl Spring Shoes!

Yay for more fun shoes!  I bought these online because they were super cute, but also because DSW was running some great specials that week.  If you aren't already, I would absolutely recommend becoming a DSW member (it's free) because they offer so many coupons, discounts, and fun stuff in general.

Ok, onto the shoes.  The Stoneham gladiator sandals are unbelievably comfortable, and the straps haven't bugged me once- a common issue with strappy gladiator flats.  I am definitely going to get another pair in a different color- the only problem is deciding on what color to get!

The Kallista shoes are cute, but not quite as successful.  I love the strappy look of them, and the platform base makes these shoes v. comfortable.  However, the back heel is a little high for me? possibly, and after a long time of walking around, left some marks on the back of my legs- ouch.  Also, the front toe opening caused some damage to my skin as well.  I think I'll try these again though, maybe for less walking, and hopefully they will stretch out a little, since I really do like them otherwise!

Love, Love, Love: Madden Girl Shoes

My interest (ok, fine obsession) with Madden Girl shoes didn't really start until I was in the market for fun wedding/party shoes at DSW a while back.  I came across the Luckiie Sequined Platform in Black, and they were (are) so fantastic, comfy, and fun, I got them in Bronze and Gold as well.  Since then, I've found myself gravitating towards the Madden Girl brand for the cute styles, great prices, and comfort level.  I think that close to 90% of the shoes I regularly wear are Madden Girls, haha.  My recent DSW haul was literally ALL Madden Girl shoes, and I'm super excited to wear them all!  I know my friend S has the Aliza (1st photo below) and liked them a lot- they were on clearance at DSW recently so I had to get them for myself!  I would highly recommend checking out this brand next time you're in a DSW- look for the royal purple shoeboxes :o)
