Georgetown Cupcake: DC Cupcake and Lemon Blossom Cupcakes

Sorry for the delay, since by now the TLC program "DC Cupcakes" about Georgetown Cupcake is over, haha.  However I think TLC is showing reruns still, so check it out if you get a chance.  Anyway, on this particular day, Georgetown Cupcake was celebrating the premiere day with special DC Cupcakes for free all day!  I also used the Daily Candy code for an extra free cupcake that day, so I picked up the Lemon Blossom, woohoo!

First, the Lemon Blossom cupcake.  It's a "light lemon cupcake with a lemon cream cheese frosting topped with a candied lemon".  If you're a fan of fruity, non-chocolate cupcake flavors, this is a great option for you.  A great balance of tart and sweet, with fresh lemon zest throughout to make it extra pretty.  Sure this cupcake is probably just as bad for you as a chocolate-based cupcake, but it doesn't "feel" as rich, if that makes any difference, haha.

The DC Cupcakes cupcake was pretty much their regular chocolate cake with colored vanilla buttercream frosting, topped with round sprinkles (a la their Birthday cupcakes) and a fondant "DC Cupcakes" logo on top.  Taste-wise it wasn't anything new, but v. cute and a fun way to celebrate the premiere of the show!
